‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Teddy Bear Available Just In Time For Valentine’s Day

A Vermont company is offering a “Fifty Shades of Grey Bear” as a gift for that lover wanting to experience a little domination on Valentine’s Day. According to Vermont Teddy Bear, this sexy bear apparently has all the trappings of a memorable gift that will make her really want to get close.

Fifty Shades of Grey is an erotic romance novel, penned by English author E.L. James, which has since been made into a movie. The story is one of dominance and submission, sadism and masochism, along with scenes of bondage. The book was released back in 2011 and was to be the first in a trilogy, selling over 100 million copies worldwide.

The book didn’t do well in more critical literary circles. In fact, according to Author Salman Rushdie, speaking at the University of Vermont Wednesday, he had “never read anything so badly written that got published.” However, the public obviously appreciated the titillating tale.

According to the Burlington Free Press, Vermont Teddy Bear were not too worried about literary merits when they got the idea for their new bear. They state on their website that the “Fifty Shades of Grey Bear” has “all the trappings of a memorable gift — daring, passion, exciting next-to-skin touch — she’ll be desperate to get close.” In fact, according to their Twitter feed the company is “obsessed with Grey.”

What makes this bear different from the usual teddy bear is the fact that he is smartly dressed and in one paw he’s holding a pair of handcuffs, while a black mask casually drapes from the other.

According to the description of the teddy bear on the website, “Bear seduces her with silky, smoky Grey fur; smoldering Grey eyes; a handsome grey suit and silver tie,” which apparently means, “She can’t help but submit to loving him.”

Theorizing that the whole thing might be taking things too far, Best Daily reports the “Fifty Shades of Grey Bear” is available exclusively via the website of Vermont Teddy Bear at a cost of $89.99, especially for those who feel the need to dominate Valentine’s Day. Rather ironically considering the theme of the toy, there is a safety warning that the teddy bear contains small parts and is not suitable for children.

In other, possibly rather tamer, teddy news, the Inquisitr recently reported that a travel agency is now offering special vacation trips to Japan for that cuddly friend. While the owner has to pay shipping for the bear to Tokyo, the teddy bear or other stuffed friend can then enjoy various different tour packages, ranging from $35 to $55, and will apparently return home relaxed and happy.
