Twin Brothers Come Out To Dad In Emotional YouTube Video

In the spirit of kicking off 2015 in a new light, twin brothers, YouTube sensation The Rhodes Bros, decided to officially come out to their father as gay.

The twins, Aaron and Austin Rhodes, stated that they’d come out to everyone in their family except to their dad. And as rising YouTube stars, they wanted to inform him of their sexuality before he learned the news from videos posted.

The brothers, who are from Los Angeles, filmed the emotionally-charged moment with their father’s reaction as they told him the news over the phone.

Visibly nervous, the twins broke down in tears a few times and struggled as their confused dad implored them to tell him what had upset them.

“There’s some stuff coming out on YouTube soon and we just wanted to call and talk to you about it before,” Aaron explains.

“I don’t really know how else to put it, but I’m gay, and, erm, Austin is too — and we just wanted to call and tell you.”

Watch the brothers’ uplifting and heartwarming video, and hear their father’s beautiful response to the unexpected news.

The twin duo posted the video on YouTube on Wednesday (which has since had over one million views) with the following caption.

“With 2015 now here, we think it is time to finally just be ourselves. We hope by our actions today, you can finish watching this video feeling encouraged and inspired. Thank you for all the support.”
