Mass Effect 3 pre-order bonuses revealed

Now that Mass Effect 3 is nearing closer and closer to its March release date, EA and BioWare are starting to talk about the pre-order bonuses gamers will be able to receive by pre-ordering through their choice of outlet.

There are, of course, retailer-exclusive pre-order bonuses, but everyone who pre-orders Mass Effect 3 at any retailer, online or otherwise, will receive the M55 Argus Assault Rifle, an “accurate burst fire” rifle, free of charge.

If you want even more items, you’ll have to do your pre-ordering at GameStop or EB Games, which are both offering “N7 Warfare Gear”. The pre-order bonus “pack” of sorts gives players the N7 Defender armor (increased health, shields, weapon damage and ammo capacity) and the N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle (high caliber rounds with “superior accuracy”) in addition to the M55 Argus Assault Rifle.

EA is offering a pre-order bonus of its own by way of its origin digital store. If players pick up their copy of Mass Effect 3 on Origin, they’ll receive a AT-12 Raider Shotgun, which fires “a large pellet spread, ensuring maximum coverage for close-range targets.”

Mass Effect 3 is due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on March 6 in North America, March 9 in Europe.
