‘Walking Dead’ New Cast: Ross Marquand Stirring Speculation About Show’s Future

The second half Walking Dead, Season 5 already promises to be full of new twists, and it looks like Ross Marquand will be there to join in the fun. Marquand is known for being an impersonator and his role as Han Solo — on the cartoon Phineas and Ferb, that is.

It’s still not clear what character he’ll be playing, but Entertainment Weekly is making some well-educated speculation.

On November 30th, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman said on Talking DeadWalking Dead‘s after show — that “a very prominent gay character from the comics” would make his or her way into the TV series, leading fans of the comics to think that Marquand will be playing the character Aaron, who appears in edition #67.

Aaron is from the walled-off community of Alexandria Safe-Zone. In the comics, he meets Rick and his gang on the road to Washington, and convinces them to join the secure village.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Aaron has a boyfriend named Eric who works with him as a recruiter.

Although, all of that is speculation, and the TV series is known to trail off from the comics.

Still, making their way into a new community, one that’s reportedly the longest-running community in the series, falls in line with some comments from the Walking Dead‘s writers and actors.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Scott Milhouse Gimple gave some descriptions on how Season 5 would finish up.

“The back eight has a very interesting structure, there are some very emotional moments, there are some very crazy moments and there’s a huge change for the situation of these characters.”

Could that huge change be Alexandria Safe-Zone?

Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, also gave his input on the drastically changing Walking Dead.

“The scripts that I’ve read and what we’ve been filming so far, it feels like we’re moving into a new show. It just feels like a new place visually and also story-wise. It’s very hard not to be brutalized by this world, but there is a sense in Rick that he’s going to pull people through.”

A new place story-wise could be a new community.

Ross Marquand will be joined on the Walking Dead by another new cast member, Alexandra Breckenridge, known for her work on American Horror Story. Unlike Marquand, Breckenridge won’t be a regular, although that possibility exists in Season 6, which is already a go.

In any case, Walking Dead fans will be introduced to a lot of new faces, but there’s no telling how long they’ll last.
