George Clooney Divorce: Actor Addresses Reports Of Problems With Amal, Puts Rumors To Rest

George Clooney is facing the divorce rumors head on, whether he knows it or not.

After reports began circulating that the actor and new wife Amal Clooney are facing major difficulties, George made sure to publicly thank his wife when accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement at last weekend’s Golden Globe awards.

The couple only got married in September, but has been surrounded by reports of unrest in the marriage. Now, George Clooney has done his part to put those divorce rumors to rest.

“I’ve had a pretty good year myself,” Clooney told the audience as he looked at wife Amal.

“Listen: It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love — even better when you’ve been waiting your whole life. And when your whole life is 53 years, Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband.”

Clooney even paid homage to his wedding by wearing the same tuxedo to the Golden Globes.

“I’m wearing my wedding tux,” Clooney told Us Weekly on the red carpet.

“[Alamuddin] was looking at dresses last night still, trying to figure out what she was going to wear and I was watching the football game. Two o’clock this afternoon, I was still watching football and she’s… It’s not fair to women, these award shows.”

This came just days after a report from Naughty Gossip claimed that Amal was incredibly jealous of George’s relationships with women, including his Gravity co-star Sandra Bullock. The report cited an anonymous source that claimed Sandra sees George as “the one that got away,” while Clooney thinks that Bullock is “incredibly charming.”

It’s not clear if George Clooney is even aware of the divorce rumors, or what basis they might have in reality. All of the reports have cited anonymous sources, and have come from many gossip sites proven very wrong on other rumors in the past.
