Ship Your Enemies Glitter For Only $9.99

Yes, you read that correctly. For a mere $9.99 Australian, you can ship your enemies glitter. The site that offers this service, shipyourenemiesglitter.com, describes glitter as “craft herpes.”

A Reddit user promoted the site, which launched on Monday and immediately went viral. The Ship Your Enemies Glitter site was down for several hours due to the increased traffic. The site has a tongue-in-cheek attitude and is rife with curse words explaining why the company offers this questionable service.

In their frequently asked questions, the company explains what exactly it does for the money you send, “We’ll vomit up a tonne of glitter & put it in an envelope with your recipients address on the front of it. We’ll also include a note telling them how awful they are which will be folded within.”

What makes glitter bombs so distressing is that the glitter gets everywhere and the more there is of it the harder it is to get rid of it. While the thought may never have occurred to you, glitter bombs have been all the rage in the U.S. for a while. Glitter bombs have been associated with advocating for the LBGT movement, but even the Kardashians and Mitt Romney have been glitter bombed.

Nobody knows why a tattooed clown glitter bombed the Kardashians but Peter Smith, a Denver student who glitter bombed Romney, said he chose glitter because it’s tough to deal with and that it was a spur of the moment idea. That spur of the moment idea made international news.

According to the Washington Post, company founder Matthew Carpenter came up with the idea to ship your enemies glitter after receiving annual holiday cards from a relative with glitter inside. Although the relative always put a modest amount of glitter into the envelopes, Carpenter finally responded by sending her a letter with many times as much glitter inside.

Thanks to the Ship Your Enemies Glitter web site, anyone can transform a moment of momentary annoyance or a feeling of intense hatred into a truly aggravating experience. For others for a nominal fee, the company will ship the glitter along with a note explaining to your enemy exactly why they are receiving the horrible gift.
