Nicki Minaj’s Ex-Boyfriend Claims She Treated Him Just ‘Like An Employee’

Nicki Minaj made her feelings for boyfriend of 11 years, Safaree Samuels, abundantly clear on her The Pinkprint album, which featured more than one lyric about her longtime lover.

But now, Samuels has come forward and spoken out about the relationship, which ended recently. Speaking with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club during an interview on Tuesday as reported by Us Weekly, Samuels alleged that he was treated more like an “employee” than a lover by Minaj.

As Samuels revealed to the radio station, “I walked away. I’m not going to say I broke up, but I’m the one who walked away. I packed up my stuff and I left.”

While the lyrics in Nicki Minaj’s album did tell her side of the story, as far as the relationship with Samuels is concerned, he spoke openly about the break-up, saying candidly,”I just got to the point where the respect wasn’t there. Everyone around her works for her, you know? So it got to the point where it was like, I’m your man. I’m who you go to sleep with every night. I’m who you wake up with every morning. And it got to the point where I was being treated like an employee, instead of like her man.”

Even though there was a substantial Twitter feud between Minaj and Samuels, following the release of her album, Samuels did say he never wanted to diss Nicki Ninaj in public.

“I would never do anything publicly to try to pull her down. Whatever happens between me and her one-on-one is what it is, that’s personal. I would never put that out there. I could be out here telling a million stories and doing cornball s–t, but I’m not gonna do that and I never plan on doing that. I just think it’s crazy for her to come out now and try to pull me down and try to say I’m corny.”

It seems that when it comes to break-ups of this type, things often get really bitter, so it’s good to see that Nicki Minaj, and especially her boyfriend of more than a decade, Safaree Samuels, were able to keep things civil, remembering the good times they shared together.
