God of War IV shows up on composer’s resume

Sony has yet to confirm the existence of God of War IV, but there hasn’t been any shortage of chatter since last year that Sony was planning on a new installment in the God of War franchise.

In what is the strongest evidence of the existence of God of War IV yet–if you even needed evidence–composer Timothy Williams, the man behind the soundtracks for Dota 2 and the 2011 film Conan the Barbarian, listed the game on his resume as one of his upcoming projects.

Removing any doubt that the listing was a mistake, Williams confirmed its accuracy in an email with Joystiq, explaining he is “working on it in the capacity of orchestrations and some additional music.” He added that Taylor Bates is the “main composer” for the unannounced title.

Considering that the God of War series is one of Sony’s most successful franchises of the past two generations, I don’t think anyone would be surprised to learn that a God of War IV is in the works. It’s just a matter of “when”, and we’ll have to wait until Sony’s ready to officially announce it before we know for certain.
