Kathy Bates Injured: Actress Cries Out During Golden Globes 2015 Appearance
Kathy Bates was reportedly injured during her appearance at Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, though little information about the situation is presently available.
While reports about the incident are few and far between at the moment, Us Weekly reports that Bates injured herself about an hour after the awards show began. The American Horror Story actress has remained fairly tight-lipped about the situation, though a few eye witnesses seemed to think she was in excruciating pain.
“[Kathy Bates] screamed out in pain and almost collapsed,” a source who witnessed the injury told the publication. “She limped back to her table and looked to be crying in pain.”
The pain was reportedly so intense that Bates had to use a chair to balance herself. Although the situation seemed pretty intense, the award-winning actress made it through the rest of the ceremony without further incident.
The Times of India explains that it’s possible Kathy Bates’ injury was the result of someone stepping on her foot. Again, because the Misery star hasn’t released an official statement about the matter as of this writing, this is nothing more than unchecked speculation. Since she made it through the rest of the show without seeking medical attention, it’s safe to say that Bates is doing all right.

Bates definitely has the support of her fans. Commenters have filled Yahoo! News with kind-hearted well-wishes since the injury took place.
“She has successfully fought cancer twice: ovarian and breast, which involved a double mastectomy in 2012. She’s announced that she’s suffering from lymphedema in her arms as a result of the cancer. I think after going through all of that, if she was injured to the point of screaming, something really hurt. Hope she’s OK and it ends up being nothing serious.”
If you’re still deeply concerned that something is seriously wrong with Kathy Bates, the actress let the world know that everything is a-okay during a Fox party later that evening.
“I’m fine now! I’m absolutely fine,” she insisted.
Bates received a nomination at this year’s Golden Globes for her work in the acclaimed television series American Horror Story. However, she ultimately lost out to Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt. Bates won an Emmy for her portrayal of Madame Delphine LaLaurie in American Horror Story: Coven.
Although Kathy Bates was reportedly injured during Sunday’s Golden Globes, fans can rest easy knowing that the actress is doing fine today.
