Ben Stiller Joins Comedy Central For Two 2015 TV Shows [Videos]

Ben Stiller was the recent focus of the fourth day of the 2015 Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour. Held at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California, Ben Stiller, of Zoolander and Meet the Parents fame, was officially announced as being a major part of two Comedy Central television shows due to air in 2015.

According to MultiChannel News, Ben Stiller’s production company, Red Hour, has been named as the talent behind the Comedy Central shows Big Time in Hollywood, Florida and Another Period. Another Period is slated to debut in the summer of 2015, while Big Time will be premiering on March 25 on Comedy Central.

Ben Stiller’s Big Time stars include Michael Madsen, Cuba Gooding Jr., Alex Anfanger, Lenny Jacobson, Kathy Baker, and Keith David. The synopsis of Big Time is two filmmakers living on their own for the first time all while working hard to create a film that is going to be a major success.

Another Period will feature Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome as two people in 1899 that are only interesting in becoming famous. As executive producer, Ben Stiller was quoted at the Television Critics Association Winter Tour by The Hollywood Reporter as saying that Another Period has “this sort of reality show vibe and also this anachronistic thing that is going on too. It’s also just really stupid at times too.”

Deadline writes that Ben Stiller thinks people that watch Another Period will say, “What the hell is this?” About the quality of the show, actress Kathy Baker, who has a major role in Big Time, said that the writers of the show are the same age as her sons — but yet they have the skills to produce writing about a middle-aged marriage.

While Ben Stiller is not necessarily the star of these new Comedy Central television shows, he will have guest starring roles in addition to his major behind-the-scenes activities.

As far as other potential 2015 projects, Ben Stiller was quoted in November by The Huffington Post that a Zoolander 2 movie is in the works, and that Penelope Cruz has joined the film.
