There’s new audio of Amedy Coulibaly — one of the suspects in the Charlie Hebdo Paris magazine attack who later died in a kosher market, as reported by the Inquisitr — wherein he can be heard trying to make a case for why he committed such heinous acts.
In the video on CNN’s website, Amedy Coulibaly’s voice can be heard after RTL, a French radio station, called the kosher market where hostages were being held and Coulibaly answered the phone but didn’t hang up. Coulibaly reasoned that he committed violent acts because Muslims and ISIS members have been attacked by the French military.
“I was born in France. If they didn’t attack other countries, I wouldn’t be here. But I am telling you, it’s almost over. Militants are going to come. There are going to be more and more. [The French] need to stop. They need to stop attacking ISIS. They need to stop asking our women to remove the hijab.”
With the entire dialogue recorded in French in the audio but English subtitles provided on the CNN website, the 32-year-old Coulibaly can be heard going back and forth — debating with another man about taxes and other concerns.
“You pay taxes, so that means you agree.”
When the other man tries to reason that he must pay taxes because it’s the law and required, Coulibaly argues vehemently against that logic.
“What? We don’t have to. I don’t pay my taxes!”
The man debating Coulibaly reasons that taxes go to good causes, like for the roads and schools — and that taxpayers don’t harm anyone else. However, the man thought to be Coulibaly — whose voice couldn’t be verified as Coulibaly by CNN — speaks of another plan, and mentions the Charlie Hebdo publication that suffered the loss of staff due to satirical creations of Mohammed that angered the terrorists.
“Everyone could get together. If they could get together for Charlie Hebdo… they could do the same thing for us and get together for us.”
According to Time, the Paris attacks have resulted in 20 deaths, including Amedy Coulibaly, boyfriend to Hayat Boumeddiene. Coulibaly allegedly killed four people in the kosher market on Friday, where the recordings of the argument can be heard. He also allegedly killed a female police officer on Thursday. The latest reports of the whereabouts of Hayat Boumeddiene claim that she might not have been in France when the attacks occurred.
