How Teresa Giudice Can Look Pretty In Prison: Jailbird Beauty Tips

Teresa Giudice’s appearance has always been important to her, but The Real Housewives of New Jersey star will have to drastically change her beauty routine now that she’s behind bars. So how will the jailed Jersey girl survive without hair salons, facials, spa days, and pricey beauty products?

According to TMZ, the folks behind the PRIV beauty app decided to help Teresa Giudice out by sending her a list of prison beauty hacks.

One of PRIV’s beauty tips is to use a toothbrush covered with Vaseline to exfoliate and moisturize the lips. Vaseline is a very versatile product, so this isn’t the only way Teresa can incorporate petroleum jelly into her new beauty routine. She also shouldn’t feel bad about using the inexpensive drugstore product — one A-list star swears by the greasy stuff. During an interview with Redbook, Jennifer Aniston shared one of her favorite petroleum jelly beauty hacks.

“Put Vaseline on your eyes at night–all over. It helps condition your lashes. My mom taught me that.”

It can also be used to soften rough feet and remove makeup.

PRIV’s other beauty hacks for Giudice include popping open an Advil Liqui-Gel capsule to use the liquid inside as an acne spot treatment, and mixing together oatmeal and coffee grounds to create a body scrub. However, Teresa Giudice might be the most interested in PRIV’s helpful hair tip: just add a few scoops of protein powder to the commissary conditioner to boost hair growth. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Giudice has very thin hair, so it really bothers her that her beloved clip-in hair extensions are banned at Danbury Federal Correctional Facility.

Luckily for The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, the prison commissary does stock a pretty pricey shampoo that make might her feel a bit like a pampered princess again — according to Us Weekly, she can shell out $8.60 for a bottle of Dr. Miracles. She also has access to a Clairol hair dye to cover up any grays, and she can keep her skin moisturized using a variety of drugstore body lotions like Nivea, Palmers Coco Butter, and Jergens.

Teresa Giudice’s makeup routine will be much different in prison. The RHONJ star told OK! Magazine that she loves expensive MAC makeup, but the only prison commissary makeup product Us Weekly listed was a $3 tube of lip gloss. If Giudice really wants to be a beauty product Macgyver, she can try using that lip gloss in a variety of different ways. According to Birchbox, it can be used on the hair to smooth down flyaways. It can also be applied to the eyelids to create a dewy look, and it can be used as an eyebrow gel.

If Giudice wants to get creative, she can try some of the prison beauty tricks that Orange is the New Black makeup artist Michal Bigger shared with Total Beauty. She revealed that real-life prisoners use Kool-Aid or other powdered drink mixes as hair dye, cheek stain, or lip stain (mix it with Vaseline to create lip gloss). Instant coffee can be used as eyeshadow, and it’s easy to turn colored pencils into eyeliner — just hold the tips of the pencils under hot water to soften them up. Teresa Giudice might be able to afford a package of the cheap hair rollers at the prison commissary, but hopefully she tries using tampons to make waves instead.
