Aviva Drescher Explains Infamous Leg Toss On ‘RHONY,’ Says She Was Trying To Make The Show ‘Entertaining’

Aviva Drescher is insisting her Real Housewives of New York City Season 6 leg toss was all in good fun.

During an interview with HuffPost Live on January 6, Drescher claimed her leg toss was an attempt to “earn [her] keep.” As Us Weekly reported, Aviva Drescher took off her leg during an episode of The Real Housewives of New York, proclaiming, “The only thing fake about me is this,” after arguing with a few of her co-stars.

“I look at being a Housewife as a job to entertain people, and, you know, it was a piece of the entertainment. The highest ratings of the entire season was that episode.”

In addition to entertaining her fans, Aviva Drescher hoped her leg toss would garner her a possible spot on the seventh season of the show, as well as a possible raise.

“You start the season, you get one salary, and that’s that, and you know, I just feel an obligation to earn my keep. You know, I got a certain salary, and I was there, and I was asked to be dramatic. We know they love that, and I tried my best.”

Following the airing of the episode, Aviva Drescher quickly began making headlines for her behavior, but according to her, she’s not someone who typically throws body parts.

“In my real life, have I ever thrown anything? Never. Would I ever do that in real life? No. But there were several cameras around me, and was I thinking about making a show and be entertaining? Yes, absolutely.”

Months after Season 6 wrapped, as the Inquisitr reported, it was announced Drescher would not be returning to the show.

“I don’t feel like I got let go by the Obama cabinet or anything. I can live with not being a good reality star, I’m okay with that. It was a business decision, and I’m sure [Cohen] made the right decision, and it didn’t really change my life one way or another.”

Although Drescher won’t be seen on The Real Housewives of New York City any longer, Hollywood Life reported on January 8 that she would be coming back to reality television to address marital issues between herself and Reid — and she’s not holding back when it comes to what she’ll let cameras film.

“There was one sex day at boot camp. And we were asked to take puppets and act out our own sex life. Can you imagine [having your kids see that]? The other couples were going at it with their dolls and screaming and yelling and hooting and Reid and I turned purple. We were like kissing — the dolls kissing — and then we were done. There was no way that I could have that on Google for my children to see forever. There’s no way, so it’s going to come off like we’re complete prudes and I’m okay with that.”

Aviva Drescher will be seen in WEtv’s Marriage Boot Camp, which premieres tonight at 9 p.m.
