‘The Flash’ Spoilers: The Weather Wizard Cast, More Villains Coming, And People’s Choice Win

There’s still a bit of time before the next new episode of The Flash, but that doesn’t mean fans have to wait for spoilers about what’s coming up in the rest of the season. Not only are there new characters and villains coming, but the series has also been recognized with an award.

The next new episode is the 10th of the season, but there’s already casting news out for episode 15, as Entertainment Weekly has reported that Spartacus’ Liam McIntyre will be appearing as Mark Mardon, the Weather Wizard. His brother, Clyde, was in the series premiere, and Mark comes back “to get justice for his brother’s untimely death and uses his powers, similar to Clyde’s, to go on a rampage and find the man that shot Clyde: Joe West.” Other Spartacus actors (Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Katrina Law, Nick Tarabay, and Manu Bennett) have had roles on Arrow, but McIntyre is the first on The Flash.

In other casting news, ComicBook.com has revealed that Ravenswood’s Britne Oldford will be playing Shawna Baez, Clay Parker’s (Michah Parker) girlfriend, and first appears in Episode 12. The description of the character of Clay teases a bit about her character as well.

“Clay Parker, an inmate at Iron Heights Prison, is currently locked up for stealing money and working with a big-time crime lord in Central City. When Clay’s girlfriend breaks him out of prison, Clay exploits her feelings for him and convinces her to utilize her meta-human powers for one last heist before they leave the city for good.”

Coming Soon has posted a new teaser for the show’s return, and as you can see below, it also reveals the return of one villain and introduction of other characters, including Oldford’s. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Captain Cold returns with Heat Wave at his side, which means a Prison Break reunion for Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, and that puts one of the team in danger. The new preview also offers a look at Andy Mientus’ Pied Piper.

As the official description for “Revenge of the Rogues” explains, the first new episode of The Flash in 2015 will feature Captain Cold and Heat Wave right away.

“Leonard Snart AKA Captain Cold (guest star Wentworth Miller) returns to Central City with a new hotheaded partner in tow – Mick Rory AKA Heat Wave (guest star Dominic Purcell). The duo plan to steal a multi-million dollar painting, but Cold has another agenda while in town – to set a trap for The Flash. Snart and Mick kidnap someone close to The Flash and threaten to kill them unless The Flash shows up for a battle of fire and ice. Barry tells Joe (Jesse L. Martin) he isn’t sure he should take on Snart again after the casualties that happened the last time they fought. Meanwhile, Barry asks Dr. Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) to help him double his training efforts so he’s ready for the Reverse Flash when he returns to Central City. Iris (Candice Patton) deals with the aftermath of Barry’s confession, and Cisco makes the CCPD a new shield.”

Finally, according to Comic Book Resources, The Flash took home the award for Favorite New TV Drama at the People’s Choice Awards. The award was announced at the very end of the show, along with Jane the Virgin’s win for Favorite New TV Comedy.

The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, January 20 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
