‘Dragon Age: Inquisition’ Developer Shares First Details On Next Patch, Will Fix Multiplayer Issues

In the time since Dragon Age: Inquisition was first released last November, Bioware has deployed two updates to the most recent installment of their fantasy RPG franchise, including the title’s day one patch that was ready for download at the time of the game’s launch. Now, after a period of silence about the next patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition, Electronic Arts’ support confirmed that work on the third patch is now underway.

At this time, the only specific issue that has been revealed to be fixed in the next update for Dragon Age: Inquisition is a bug that is currently affecting some users that are playing the title’s new cooperative multiplayer mode. EA announced that a problem preventing keys from dropping inside Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer will be resolved in the next planned update for the game, thus marking the first time that any details of the title’s next update were publicly discussed.

“We’re working on a fix for the key drop issue in multiplayer that should resolve the vast majority of these instances. This fix will be included as part of a larger upcoming patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition.”

The bug preventing key drops in the multiplayer mode of Dragon Age: Inquisition first began being reported by players late last week. Those who become affected by the issue simply have to stop playing the current session of the game, since the lack of the key completely blocks further progress in the active match.

Neither Electronic Arts nor Bioware has provided an expected timeline regarding when they believe the third Dragon Age: Inquisition patch will be ready for release. In fact, Tuesday’s statement from EA was the first mention of the upcoming patch. The update will likely feature several fixes to Dragon Age: Inquisition, but no additional details are available at this time.

More information is expected to release shortly. The main reason for the extended delay between the launch of the second and third patch for Dragon Age: Inquisition lies in the fact that Bioware recently took an extended holiday break. News and updates will likely pick up now that the developer has returned to work.

While fans wait for more details on Dragon Age: Inquisition‘s next patch, players may also be curious about the future DLC add-ons that Bioware is working on. The Inquisitr recently reported that they do plan to continue to support the game’s multiplayer mode. However, Dragon Age: Inquisition creative director Mike Laidlaw revealed that they have not yet announced if there will be any story-based DLC to continue the game’s single player narrative.
