Cristiano Ronaldo To End Career In MLS? Agent Teases Possible US Transfer

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent has teased that the Real Madrid forward could finish his career in the United States.

During an interview with Telefoot, via the Daily Star, Jorge Mendes, who is also the agent for the likes of Chelsea’s Diego Costa, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria, and Radamel Falcao, as well as Ronaldo, admitted that the Portuguese forward is the greatest soccer player of all time before then suggesting that he might be interested in finishing his career on the western side of the Atlantic Ocean.

“This is the best of all time. No one will be like [Cristiano Ronaldo]. Then maybe he will go to the USA. God will decide.”

However, there is one side that even Jorge Mendes is adamant Cristiano Ronaldo will not join: Paris Saint Germain. “In all cases, [he] will not go to Paris,” he conceded.

Currently, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Real Madrid is set to expire at the end of the 2017/2018 La Liga season. If he hasn’t been transferred to another club before the culmination of this deal, Cristiano Ronaldo will have played at the Bernabeu for 9 seasons by this point.

Thus, there is every chance that he might consider a move to the United States. At this point he would be 32-years-old, and it’s extremely likely that he will have broken every Real Madrid scoring record available.

Cristiano Ronaldo currently has 285 goals in just 272 appearances for Real Madrid, a quite remarkable haul. There are only three players ahead of him at the top of Real Madrid’s all-time scoring chart. He is now just four goals behind Carols Santillana’s total of 289, while he is also quickly closing in on Alfredo Di Stefano’s 305 goals and Raul’s 323 goals, too.

Once Cristiano Ronaldo has overtaken the trio ahead of him, and has also added to the European Cup, La Liga, Fifa World Club Cup, and Copa del Rey honors he has collected during his tenure at Madrid, he will start to consider where he will play out the twilight years of his career.

It was previously assumed that Cristiano Ronaldo would angle for a transfer back to Manchester United. Ronaldo is still regarded as a demigod by the Old Trafford faithful for his stunning efforts at the club, while he has previously made it clear that United still have a firm place in his heart.

He played at Manchester United between 2003 and 2009, and ever since he left for Madrid, there have been dozens upon dozens of rumors that he might one day return to the north-west of England.

Wherever he goes, though, Cristiano Ronaldo will be welcomed with open arms since he is arguably the best player of his generation.
