Injured Crash Victim Found In Car Six Hours After It Was Towed

An injured man was found inside of a crashed car six hours after it was towed from the scene of the collision. The driver had smashed into a utility pole on New Year’s Day in Dayton, Ohio.

According to NY Daily News, a tow truck driver with Busy Bees Auto Parts was called to the scene of the crash to tow a Chevy Impala that had been involved in a single car accident. The Chevy Impala had slammed into a utility pole in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day, but police and emergency personnel could not find a driver at the scene. After the scene was cleared, the tow truck driver loaded the vehicle and brought it to the Busy Bees Auto Parts garage.

The accident happened around 3am and after the vehicle was dropped in the garage it was left until the next morning. However, around 9am workers at the garage opened the vehicle to throw some debris inside. What they heard startled them. They could hear someone screaming for help from inside the car. They spotted an injured man in the front floorboard of the vehicle who was begging for help.

The Dayton Daily News reports that the workers immediately called 911 and explained the unusual situation.

“I towed a car last night. I went to go take care of the lot, this guy’s still in his vehicle,” an unidentified worker from Busy Bee Auto Parts and Towing Inc. told emergency dispatchers around 9 a.m. Thursday. “To tell you the truth, I don’t know if this guy came back to his car and climbed in it.”

Police say they are investigating the incident to determine what went wrong. Police say they searched the scene of the accident and did not find the driver or anyone for that matter. They are unsure if the man was left in the vehicle at the scene of the accident and somehow remained unnoticed by emergency personnel and tow crew, or if he crawled back into the vehicle after it was towed to Busy Bees Auto Parts which was just up the road from the accident.

It may seem impossible for an injured person to make their way up the road to the auto parts garage following the accident. However, as the Inquisitr previously reported, a 7-year-old girl survived a plane crash and walked almost a mile to a nearby home to seek help.

What do you think? Did police and emergency responders miss the injured man inside of the vehicle, or is it possible that the man crawled back into the vehicle once it was parked at the tower’s garage?
