Schmap Launches iPhone Site

Digital travel guide provider Schmap has released an iPhone version, delivering its wide range of travel guides in a format more friendly to iPhone users.

Schmap covers destinations throughout Europe and the USA, as well as Canada, Australia and New Zealand. There are currently over 199 city or island guides available from Schmap, and all are offered completely free, unlike other services that charge for premium content.

The site also sources photographs from Flickr and other places, then publishes them with permission. I know this because I photo I took in November 2006 is one of the official Schmap pictures for The Eaton Centre in Toronto, Canada (top right of the pic).

Ideally, this would be a native iPhone application (and they do have a desktop app) but it’s still very handy in this format. The iPhone site can be accessed via schmap.com/iphone.
