As the expected PC launch of Grand Theft Auto V draws near, there have been several online rumors that speculate that Rockstar Games plans to delay the release of the PC version of GTA V. However, the developer recently reassured fans on the official Rockstar Support website by issuing a statement confirming that GTA V is still expected to launch later this month on PC as originally announced.
“GTA V will be coming to PC on January 27. We have not announced any changes to this date at this time.”
There are also rumors regarding supposedly leaked system requirements for the upcoming PC edition of GTA V that are currently in circulation. However, Rockstar Games has also pointed out that they have not yet announced the title’s PC requirements so none of the system specs should be considered official. The developer once again confirmed from their Twitter support account that they haven’t shared the GTA V PC requirements at this time. Fans are encouraged to subscribe to a specific support topic to receive further notification on system specifications.
Just as Rockstar Games recently released an improved remastered HD version of Grand Theft Auto V on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, the upcoming PC edition will also include improved features and visuals from the title’s original last-gen editions that were first released in 2013. In fact, GTA V is expected to feature even more improvements on PC than what was seen on the Xbox One and PS4 re-release.
Rockstar Games admits that the differences in basic specifications between the different editions of GTA V will cause the game to eventually have varying updates across the different platforms. In fact, as reported by the Inquisitr, the first weekend event of 2015 just concluded in GTA V and the bonus missions that were added actually differed across console generation.
It is unknown at this time whether the upcoming PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will receive its own separate updates in the future or if it will simply get the same updates and the Xbox One and Playstation 4 editions of the game, only on a different timeline.
The PC launch of GTA V is still expected to happen later this month. Also coming to Grand Theft Auto V at the start of the year will be the release of cooperative heist missions to the title’s online multiplayer mode. Rockstar Games confirmed that online heists would be added to GTA Online prior to the original release of the game.
