Father Disciplines Son After Learning He Wants To Join A Gang, Footage Of Harsh Lesson Goes Viral [Video]

One father was recently deemed “Father Of The Year” for his involvement in his son’s life. When the man learned of his son’s alleged plans to join a gang, he came up with a plan of his own. Needless to say, his son won’t be joining a gang anytime soon — if ever.

The video begins with the father sending a message to the alleged gang members who think his son will be joining. He made it quite clear that the plan has been botched and his son will no longer be involved with any gang-related activities.

Then, he turns his attention to his son. He can be seen mocking his son, asking him to throw up gang signs. But, of course the boy refused. Then he takes things a step further and challenges his son to see if he’s even fit to be in a gang.

When the boy backs down, the father gives him a taste of harsh reality and slaps him to remind him that he has to be “tough” to gang bang. At the end of the video, that father reiterates that his son will no longer be “participating.”

On Dec. 31, the two-minute video was uploaded to Emmanuel Matos‘ Facebook page. The jaw-dropping video has received nearly 2 million views in less than 24 hours. With more than 44,000 likes and over 50,000 shares, the comments on the video continue to pour in.

But of course, the father’s disciplinary actions have received mixed opinions. Although most viewers felt that the world needs more fathers like him, some felt his actions went a bit too far and bordered abuse. A number of viewers also argued that the father exploited his son by filming the encounter.

“The world needs more fathers like this and less ‘weekend’ dads.”

“If more parents were like this man, there could be a possibility of less criminals in the world.”

“All these people that claim that spanking your kids and punishing them is bad, take a walk in this mans shoes, I rather scare them straight than getting a phone call in the middle of the night telling me my kid is lying in the street dead.”

“Hitting your kid in the face is definitely abuse. And if he was raised properly he would understand how stupid gangs are without having to be hit. And do you know how many gangs aren’t drug or violence related. Yeah alot are terrible but not all are the same. This kid is old enough for reason and logic, talk to him.”

“Lead by example. The kid so far hadn’t broken any laws he is just hanging with people the dad doesn’t like. Is it ok for you to slap your daughter because she hangs with h***? And gangs generally kill other gang members, not innocent people. And large majority of gangs are just crews of friends not real gang activity. If he had been raised properly this situation wouldn’t exist.”
