‘Glee’ Spoilers: Brittany’s Parents And The New Kids Cast, Plus Watch New Performances

It’s almost time for the final Glee season premiere, and there is plenty for fans to be excited about as they count down the days. Not only is there new casting news for several characters, but a couple of new performances have also been released, teasing what to expect in the show’s last episodes.

First up, Hollywood Life reported that Jennifer Coolidge and Ken Jeong will be playing Brittany’s parents, as new Glee cast member Billy Lewis Jr. revealed.

“When filming the wedding episodes actually, there were a couple of amazing comedians that come in. Ken Jeong and Jennifer Coolidge play Brittany’s parents in the show and watching the two of them work is like gold. It’s like a comedic masterclass. The way they come up with new lines on the spot and make each other laugh constantly. It’s just gold.”

In fact, Jeong had teased this casting news when he tweeted out the following photo of himself with Coolidge, Heather Morris, and Glee writer and co-executive producer Michael Hitchcock back in November.

It sounds like there’s plenty of comedy coming up in the show’s final season, at least according to the actor playing Mason.

“We’re definitely the comic relief right off the bat. We have a tip of the hat to Brittany, just nice, light and carefree. Until we get into a little more of some storyline stuff later on.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Mason is just one of the new characters coming to Glee for its final season. TVLine broke the news about who will be playing the new characters, and in addition to Billy Lewis Jr. as Mason, there’s Noah Guthrie as Roderick, Marshall Williams as Spencer, Samantha Ware as Jane, and Laura Dreyfuss as Madison, Mason’s twin.

For fans who would rather know more about what to expect from the returning characters, ET Online shared the video performance of “Take On Me,” which will be part of the second hour of the Glee season premiere and made its official television debut during Pitbull’s New Year’s Eve Revolution special on Fox.

Also, Fox has posted a clip of Rachel watching the Warblers’ performance of “Sing.” Blaine is going to be their coach this season.

As Lea Michele told ET Online, after Rachel’s TV show plans failed, she returns to Ohio to help out at McKinley.

“At the beginning of season six, we find out what happened with Rachel in Los Angeles and with the TV show and that gets really messed up. She finds herself back in Ohio but for good reason because these kids need her and she’s back to sort of re-boot the glee club.”

Glee Season 6 premieres January 9 on Fox.
