Cats And Kittens Share Purr-fect New Year Resolutions: Taylor Swift Proud To Be ‘Cat Lady’ [Video]

If contemplating New Year’s Resolutions makes you bummed, some creative cat owners have the purr-fect anecdote. They’ve concocted meow-worthy resolutions and New Year quotes for their kitties, and they just might outdo Grumpy Cat when it comes to cuteness.

Some kitten resolutions offer tips for humans, such as being a better friend and helping others.

Then there are those cats who resolve to help their owners get their act together by training their humans. Toilet paper tubes are really intended to be cat toys, and convincing people of that furry fable belongs on every kitten’s resolution list.

But what if you want to facilitate your own cat’s resolutions or imagine New Year’s quotes? One Green Planet has come up with some insights into what Mr. Mewster or Miss Purr Baby might be contemplating, and how it can help you.

Seeking your dream job? Your cat can help you realize the full extent of your accomplishments, including helping others. Because once a kitten has captured that elusive red dot you control, well, who could purr for anything more?

But when it comes to anthropomorphizing cats, Grumpy Cat just might win. His owner, Tabatha Bundesen, has profited from the cat’s starring role in Friskies commercials.

But if you’re wondering about whether all these cat tails on the internet really serve a purpose, cat adoption groups say yes. They cite statistics showing that viewing adorable kitten videos and imaginary quotes from Grumpy Cat have boosted cat adoptions, reported the Huffington Post.

Add celebrities such as Taylor Swift to the Team Cat crowd, and studies show that more people recognize the purr-fectly charming power of kittens.

Taylor has even devoted much of her own social media efforts to her cats, as the Inquisitr reported. From Instagram to Twitter to chatting on talk shows, Swift is quick to highlight the doggoned cuteness of kitties. She even appeared in a commercial for Diet Coke that devoted more time to kittens than to the celebrity or the beverage.

“Social media has put pets front and center,” noted Christie Keith, social media consultant for Maddie’s Fund, which focuses on saving cats’ and dogs’ lives. “Social media is revolutionizing how we help animals.”

In a recent study conducted by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, cat adoptions from shelters soared 111 percent.

Now that’s something to purr about.
