Grieving Father Attempts Attack On Daughter’s Rapist/Murderer During Court Proceedings

A grieving father attempted to attack the rapist and murderer of his 12-year-old daughter during court proceedings in Arkansas on Monday. The incident occurred when the father, Greg Brewer, was taunted by the convicted criminal, the Blaze reports.

Karl Roberts was convicted in 2000 for the 1999 rape and murder of Andi Brewer. He appeared in Polk County Circuit Court for a competency evaluation in determining whether he’s permitted to waive his post-conviction rights and accept the death penalty, by which he did. The father of Andi Brewer lost control during the hearing while faced with the man who raped and killed his little girl.

The girl was reportedly raped and strangled by Roberts in a heavily wooded area near Mena, Arkansas 16 years ago. Roberts was Andi’s uncle by marriage. He was slated to be executed on May 24, 2000. He’s one of 35 prisoners in Arkansas on death row, as the Arkansas Department of Correction website reveals via QFOX 13.

Apparently while Roberts was in the courtroom, Brewer flipped him off. Roberts then turned around and remarked to the enraged father, “Greg it’s all going to be okay.” In a fit of rage, Brewer jumped over a partition in the courtroom and attempted to attack Roberts. Right before Brewer was able to get his hands on Roberts, he was stopped by security. The still grief-stricken father was arrested and taken to Polk County Jail. He’s being charged with suspicion of third-degree assault, obstructing governmental operations, and resisting arrest; all misdemeanors, Polk County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy, Scott Sawyer, says. Brewer was released from jail on $730 bond on Monday.

Andi’s mother — Rebecca Petty — tells News 5 KSFM that her husband had reached the end of his rope at that point.

“I think he had just kind of had it. We’re just overwhelmed right now.”

The courtroom was closed down to just Andi Brewer’s family during the court proceedings. The judge has not decided yet to grant Roberts’ request. The criminal’s attorney argue that he isn’t competent to waive his post-conviction rights.

Many will relate to how the father feels in this story after being in the same room with the man convicted of raping and killing his young daughter. The Inquisitr recently wrote a story about a father who tortured the man who raped his daughter before killing him. He invited the alleged attacker to dinner, then made his deadly move.
