Security Head Darren Sanders Allegedly Assaulted Woman During Baltimore Ravens Game

Darren Sanders, the security head for the Baltimore Ravens, has been accused by a woman of sexual assault.

TMZ Sports reported on Wednesday that Sanders allegedly assaulted the woman during a Baltimore Ravens game at the M&T Bank Stadium.

TMZ obtained the police report, which was filed by a woman that claimed to be an employee at the stadium on December 14. On that day, the Baltimore Ravens went head-to-head against the Cleveland Browns.

According to the report, the woman stated that she was told to escort Darren Sanders to a different part of the building. TMZ quoted a statement from the report that explains what allegedly happened while she was escorting Sanders.

“[Darren Sanders] hit and/or groped her buttocks more than once as they walked down the third level hallway.”

The alleged abuse continued, according to the woman’s claims, after she and Darren Sanders made it to the third floor lobby.

“[Sanders] pressed his body against her’s and kissed her neck and attempted to force her to grab his penis.”

The woman claims that, after walking away from the incident, she immediately told several coworkers about what happened.

Once police officers investigated the allegations made against him, TMZ reports that Darren Sanders was charged on Tuesday with a fourth degree sexual offense.

CBS Baltimore reports that a hearing in the case against the 48-year-old security director is currently scheduled for February 9 in the Baltimore City District Court.

Even though defendants in criminal cases are usually required to list their home address, the address of the Ravens’ team headquarters located in Owings Mills, Maryland, is listed in Sanders’ charge.

Kevin Byrne, a spokesman for the Baltimore Ravens, released an official statement to the Baltimore Sun about the allegations involving Darren Sanders.

“We are aware of the situation and have been investigating thoroughly.”

Darren Sanders’ lawyers are reportedly “adamant” that their client did nothing wrong. His lawyer, Andrew Alperstein, claims that the charges against are Sanders are “totally fabricated, made up.”

Earlier this year, Darren Sanders played a key role in the Ravens’ investigation into the domestic violence case involving Ray Rice and his wife.

However, this is not the first time that Sanders has had charge filed against him.

According to CBS Baltimore, Darren Sanders was charged in 2004 for bringing a concealed pistol with him to an Atlantic Coast Conference tournament game that was held in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sanders was actually shot in the hip after his gun accidentally fired.

During that game, Darren Sanders worked as a bodyguard for Steve Bisciotti, the owner of the Baltimore Ravens.
