Felix Jones Update: Cowboys RB Listed as Questionable for Eagles Game

The Dallas Cowboys could be without running back Felix Jones for this Saturday’s game against the Eagles as the team listed him as questionable after he missed practice all week due to a sore hamstring.

Jones, a first-round draft choice in 2008, is coming off back-to-back 100-yard rushing games after rookie DeMarco Murray, the team’s leading rusher, broke his right ankle in the first quarter of a loss against the New York Giants two weeks ago and was put on injured reserve.

Despite the fact that Jones spent the entire week working on the side with the training staff, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is optimistic his running back will be able to suit up and play.

“It would surprise me if Felix does not go,” Jerry Jones said Friday morning on 105.3 FM via the Dallas Morning News. “That would surprise me. On the other hand, it would be madness not to recognize he hasn’t practiced this week, so you better have another plan in place.”

The “plan,” should Felix be unable to start, is to go with Sammy Morris, a 12-year NFL veteran who was signed with Dallas and logged 12 carries for 53 yards in his debut last week.

Dallas also Friday signed running back Chauncey Washington to the active roster from its practice squad.

In addition to Felix Jones, six other players are questionable for Dallas including some key starters on defense including cornerback Mike Jenkins (shoulder), nose tackle Jay Ratliff (ribs) and linebacker DeMarcus Ware (neck). Each of those three players was limited in Friday’s practice.

Wide receiver Laurent Robinson, who is averaging one touchdown reception in each of his last 5 games, is also listed as questionable (shoulder) and he, too, was limited in Friday’s practice.
