‘RHOA’ Star Porsha Williams Releases Statement Regarding Her Arrest

RHOA star Porsha Williams was arrested on Monday in Atlanta.

As the Inquisitr reported, the reality star was taken into custody on December 29 after being pulled over for speeding and driving on a suspended license.

“A trooper made a traffic stop for speeding. The driver, Porsha Dyanne Williams, age 33 from Duluth, was charged with speeding (78 in a 55 mph zone) and driving with a suspended licensed for failure to appear,” Franka Young, a representative for the Department of Public Safety public information office, told Hollywood Life. “She was transported to the Atlanta City Jail.”

Hours later, the RHOA star posted $1,726 bond and was released from custody.

In a statement to Dish Nation on Monday, RHOA‘s Williams explained herself.

“I was headed to visit my grandfather who is very ill with cancer in the hospital, and I was pulled over. I was wrong for speeding absolutely and apologize for putting anyone at risk. I tried to explain the situation to the officer and show him that all my paperwork was in order, but he refused. Handcuffs are not comfortable or a good look for anyone. I was released; I have my license, my car, and my freedom.”

Two weeks ago, as the Inquisitr reported, Williams revealed the real reason behind her season seven demotion on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

“What happened, I think … I was dating someone at the time, and of course, as part of the show when we sign up, it’s about showing who you date,” Williams explained to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, according to a December 19 report by Reality Tea. “He was playing football, and his coach told him that he didn’t want him to film until later in the season. So unfortunately, I had filmed and shown some of my personal life, had told the producers that I would show him, but I couldn’t show him until the very, very end and by then it was a little too late.”

“They wanted a lot of the dating, and I totally get that because I’m coming from divorce, but I wanted them to film me performing ‘Flatline’ and my hair-line NAKED.”

Following her arrest, Williams surfaced on Instagram, where she shared a collage of photos of herself and her Chanel handbag, along with the caption, “#SuchAPhuckingLady #StaceysGettingMarried.”
