‘Mad Max’ Gets ‘Empire’ Magazine Cover

Mad Max: Fury Road takes over the cover of the February, 2015 issue of Empire in anticipation of the May, 2015 release of the latest entry in the speculative fiction franchise.

Dark Horizons reported on the upcoming magazine cover and apparently liked what it saw.

“Tom Hardy’s gritty yet handsome visage graces the cover of Empire Magazine’s February 2015 issue which celebrates the highly-anticipated sequel ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘.”

Eric Walkuski, writing at JoBlo, added that there will be two versions of the cover.

“Tom Hardy’s Mad Max is giving us the death stare from two new covers of Empire Magazine, which should hit stands next month. We can’t get enough early peeks at George Miller’s MAD MAX: FURY ROAD around here, so you can be assured these will be swept up asap.”

Empire provided a brief synopsis of what readers can expect from its Mad Max coverage.

“The February issue’s cover story is a journey through Mad Max lore, with Miller himself acting as your escort across a two-decade-long Mad Max: Fury Road making-of that took in triumphs, disasters and even an invasion of rogue amphibians. The writer/director opens up about everything from Mel Gibson’s early involvement to Heath Ledger’s possible casting and finally Hardy’s take on Rockatansky. For fans of the character – and of singular sci-fi visions that have lasted the years – it’s unmissable.”

Mad Max fans can expect the issue of Empire to be available by January, 2015.

In another bit of Mad Max news, The Telegraph reported that rumors are spreading that a trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice might appear before Mad Max when it debuts in theaters.

“The Korean entertainment news website KDrama reported today on rumours suggesting that the trailer will be shown ahead of George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, which premieres in May 2015.”

Yet the same article noted that rumors are just that — and reminded its readers of the problems with unofficial predictions regarding the Batman vs Superman trailer.

“That said, according to the blog “Batman on Film,” the first teaser for the film was ‘complete and ready to go’ back in October. If true, then it seems likely that the trailer may in fact premiere much sooner than May.. Previous speculation that the teaser would be unveiled this December alongside another big Warner Bros film – Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies – left fans disappointed.”
