Anthony Weiner, Huma Abedin Welcome Baby Boy Jordan

An undeniably sucky year for longtime and now former congressman Anthony Weiner and wife Huma Abedin has had a happy ending.

The couple- whose relationship has weathered the tepid sex scandal that briefly rocked Twitter and saw an end (for now) to the House career of Weiner- welcomed baby boy Jordan Zane Weiner yesterday. Baby Weiner was born 10 days early, reports indicate, weighing in at seven pounds, 5.8 ounces.

Since the horrible yet incredibly pointless brouhaha over Twitter pictures and dirty chats that eventually saw the plain-spoken New Yorker resign his post representing parts of Brooklyn and Queens, Weiner has understandably kept an extremely low-profile, both politically and personally. Weiner and wife Abedin- who works closely with Hillary Clinton- were spotted together in Paris for a “babymoon,” as well as walking around their new neighborhood, Forest Hills, reportedly discussing male baby names.

The wake of the scandal– which managed to temporarily halt Weiner’s career despite the fact no actual sex was involved- was disastrous for the up-and-coming Democrat. Prior to the incidents that brought Weiner down for the time being, the congressman was a top contender for the next mayor of New York City, and his fiery speeches often spread virally via YouTube clips on social media due to his ability to cleverly eviscerate Republican opponents on the House floor as well as on cable news shows.

As of yet, no representatives for the family have made any public commentary regarding the birth of the baby, but it’s probably safe to say Weiner, Abedin and the tyke are very happy.
