Couple Arrested After Robbing, Killing, And Setting Fire To 50-Year-Old ‘Friend’

A couple from Tennessee have been arrested following a 10-day manhunt by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, after a 50-year-old man was found shot dead and burning in his Ford F-150 pickup, having been robbed.

The arrest of Morrieo Allen on Saturday, in the 800 Block of Claybrook in Memphis came following the arrest of his girlfriend, Aleasha Cox, who has already been charged with first-degree murder in the homicide of Cleate Davis.

As reported by Fox Memphis, the sheriff said Mr. Davis was found in his truck that was on fire in a ditch in the 7800 block of Mudville Road. The county medical examiner’s office determined the victim had also been shot twice in the face.

Rochelle Weber, the victim’s daughter and other family members, were pleased to hear that the arrests of their father’s murderers had taken place.

“My family needs justice all the way around.”

In a shocking revelation, Weber also revealed that the couple were good friends of her father, telling reporters, “It was a shock to hear who did it but I feel a bit of closure that we can put my dad to rest in peace, not wondering who did this,” she said.

Meanwhile, sheriff spokesman Chip Washington also commented to reporters following the recent arrest of the second suspect.

“It does provide closure when you can solve a crime that someone committed this heinous. It gives you a sense of satisfaction to know they won’t get away with this.”

Washington added, “We feel very confident in the two individuals in question and we hope this brings some closure to Mr. Davis’ family members. That, to me, is the most important thing.”

The victim’s daughter was left shocked as to the motive for the tragic murder of her father, saying to reporters, “Just to leave someone burning in a truck. They will have to answer for this one day, and they will have to explain why they did this.”
