Vin Diesel Reveals: Two New ‘Fast And Furious’ Movies Will Be Made At The Same Time

Vin Diesel has confirmed that the team behind Fast and Furious are preparing to release two more installments for the popular series and that those installments will be made at the same time.

The news of two movies comes just weeks after Universal announced a sixth movie in the franchise, an installment that will pick up where the cliffhanger in Fast Five ended in 2010.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter Diesel said there was just too much information to shove into one movie:

“With the success of this last one, and the inclusion of so many characters, and the broadening of scope, when we were sitting down to figure out what would fit into the real estate of number six, we didn’t have enough space.”

The movies will also once against be produced by Vin Diesel who will star aside Paul Walker and Michelle Rodriquez.

With the franchise making the jump from “car movie” to “heist movie” it will be interesting to see if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returns to the cast and if they continue moving forward with the same type of theme.

As Diesel told THR:

“We have to pay off this story, we have to service all of these character relationships, and when we started mapping all that out it just went beyond 110 pages,” and “The studio said, ‘You can’t fit all that story in one damn movie!’”

Fast Five was a huge success with the moving bringing in more than $626 million worldwide.

Will you be visiting theaters to catch the next two installments in the “Fast” series?
