Debra Messing, Daniel Zelman, Separate After 10-Years

In the last week, celebrity couples Chaz Bono and Jennifer Elia, Kobe Bryant and Vannesa Bryant, and Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard, have all called it quits. Now Debra Messing and Daniel Zelman are adding their names to the list of celebrities who are separating before the holidays.

Messing and Zelman are separating after 10-years of marriage.

A rep for the couple told People Magazine:

“The decision was mutual, and they remain supportive of one another and committed to raising their son as a family.”

According to the magazine, Messing and Zelman separated earlier this year but the news didn’t reach the public until yesterday. Messing and Zelman have a 7-year-old son together.

The Washington Post reports that Zelman and Messing met at New York University while they were studying acting. The two were married in September of 2000.

Messing told people in 2004:

“I want my child to be like my husband. He is sensitive, really intelligent, really funny … but solid. He has a good sense of perspective.”

Messing, who is best known for “Will and Grace,” has a new sitcom coming up on NBC. Messing will star in “Smash,” a new musical drama, next year.

Why do you think all these celebrities are calling it quits before the holidays?
