WWE News: The Undertaker Expected To Headline 2015 WWE Hall Of Fame

On today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that, based on the conversations that he’s had with officials in WWE, The Undertaker will likely headline the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame if he’s unable to wrestle at WrestleMania 31.

Several weeks ago, The Undertaker’s face was spotted on a WWE truck that was advertising WrestleMania 31, and most people came to the conclusion that the advertisement meant that The Undertaker would be having a match at the event. But according to Meltzer, the advertisement could be for an Undertaker Hall of Fame induction.

There have been rumors that WWE is planning to induct both Sting and “Macho Man” Randy Savage into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015. However, it appears that WWE still hasn’t reached out to Savage’s family about an induction, and Sting’s induction is still up in the air. If WWE decides to induct The Undertaker, that could mean that Sting or Savage will be left out of the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class,

If The Undertaker returns to have a match at WrestleMania 31, he’ll likely be working with Bray Wyatt, and he will not be having the long-awaited dream match with Sting. The belief within WWE is that Sting needs to be carried to a good match. So, that’s why WWE is pairing Sting with Triple H, since they believe that Triple H is someone who can do that, and The Undertaker, at this point in his career, cannot.

There is a chance that WWE would like to do something with The Undertaker and Sting, but they just don’t think that the match would be any good. The Undertaker will be 50-years-old come WrestleMania 31, and Sting will be 56.

Since the post-WrestleManiaRAW typically gets the best crowd of the year, WWE could have the Undertaker and Sting go face-to-face the night after WrestleMania, then get interrupted by a pair of heels and take them out together. But, as for a match between the two, well, as of right now, that’s off the table.

There’s still a 50-50 chance that The Undertaker will have a match at WrestleMania 31, but if he doesn’t, WWE will induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania 31. But if The Undertaker decides to lace up his boots one more time, it’s almost a sure thing that WWE will induct him into the Hall of Fame the night before next year’s WrestleMania 32 in The Undertaker’s home state of Texas.
