Dina And Clint Eastwood Finally Get Divorced After Fighting Over Clint’s $350 Million Fortune
Judge Susan Matcham, of Monterey, California, has officially signed the paperwork finalizing Clint and Dina Eastwood’s divorce. The news was made public on December 23, after the papers detailing the divorce made their way to the press. Judge Matcham indicated that Clint and Dina “are restored to the status of single persons.” The former couple have been fighting for months over the conditions of their divorce before finally signing the papers back in November 24.
Clint and Dina separated in December 2012, with Dina filing for divorce a year later. She cited “irreconcilable differences.” There were no terms of financial settlement included in the divorce decree. This came after months of the two fighting over spousal support, legal custody of their daughter Morgan, and Mr. Eastwood’s $350 million fortune.
It’s been reported that Clint blocked Dina’s request for spousal support last December. It’s not yet clear how the issue was resolved, or whether or not the blocking is because of guidelines set in the pre-nuptial agreement (which is highly likely). And while Dina wanted custody of their daughter Morgan, it was deemed useless because Morgan turned 18 this month.
Clint and Dina, his second wife, were married for 17 years before the separation, and despite the bitter divorce battle, there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between them. In an interview with E! Online a year ago, Dina had nothing but kind words to say about Clint. “He’s lovely, he hasn’t done much. It’s other people around him that have done things that have blown me away and again my future ex-husband has done nothing [wrong],” Dina said. “He’s probably the sweetest guy I’ve ever met. He is the sweetest, he is a loving, kind, low-key person so my intuition was still great on marrying a good person.”
However, in the same interview, Dina pretty much closed the door on the two of them getting back together.
“I don’t think we will be getting back together,” the 49-year-old former Mrs. Eastwood said. “That is why I filed for divorce. I think maybe a part of me was holding out, like ‘What are we doing here?’ Then there have been some definite signs that we’re not going to get back together so let’s move on amicably is my opinion.”
Clint Eastwood is currently gearing up for the release of his new film, American Sniper. The actor and director, who’s known for his privacy when it comes to his personal life, is now rumored to be dating a woman named Christina Sandera.
