Meghan Trainor Planned Out How She Was Going To Succeed Down To Her Grammy Nominations

Meghan Trainor has had one heck of a year! The star shared her secret with Contact Music. It’s all about that vision board.

So what exactly is a vision board? According to Jack Canfield, it is a “tangible representation” of your goals and dreams. You find pictures of what you really want out of life and display them. Canfield says that “because your mind responds strongly to visual stimulation by representing your goals with pictures and images you will strengthen and stimulate your emotions.” I think Trainor would agree.

Contact Music stated that Trainor “planned her whole career using a vision board.” The star herself was quoted as saying, “I had a vision board! [On it] I had No1 song in the world, and a record deal – and a week later I got a record deal. And I didn’t tell anyone this, but I also put up a picture of the Grammys.”

And now sixth months after her first hit was released, Trainor is reaching all of her goals.

Trainor is widely known for the first hit, “All About That Bass.” Meghan actually wrote the hit song, but it was originally meant for another star according to InStyle. Once L.A. Reid heard her demo track, though, he signed her immediately to Epic Records. And it only went up from there.

Her first hit was released in June and quickly became number one on the music charts where it stayed for two months. With such a quick rise to fame, you’d think there was a possibility that she was going to be a one-hit-wonder, but Trainor has already disproved that theory. Her newest hit, “Lips Are Movin” is number four on the Billboard Hot 100. But wait! She’s not done yet. The singer and writer has been nominated not only for the Song of the Year but also for the Record of the Year. Within just six months, she has risen to such great heights as to be nominated for the Grammys – just what she had pictured on her vision board. Trainor is set to release her first album in January of 2015, and with the success of her first two singles, this album is greatly anticipated.

Oh yeah, and did I mention today she turns 21 today? Happy birthday, Meghan Trainor, may you experience even more success in the coming years!
