WWE: Roman Reigns Not Ready For Brock Lesnar, But He Has Time, Says Jim Ross

The “anointed one” Roman Reigns is not yet ready for Brock Lesnar, or taking the WWE Heavyweight Championship title, according to Jim Ross. But the key word is “yet,” since Superman still has time to throw off those kryptonite chains.

In a related report by the Inquisitr, some WWE insiders claim Roman Reigns is on track to win Royal Rumble 2015 and then go on to take out Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 31, but now it’s being claimed Reigns is in danger of losing that big push. It’s also being rumored that the UFC is offering Lesnar more money than Vince McMahon and Triple H, which might mean the Beast may lumber off to MMA fighting after WrestleMania 31. But Jim Ross has previously pointed out that the WWE has no reason to allow Lesnar to keep the title belt beyond Royal Rumble if there’s uncertainty of his WWE contract.

When Jim Ross was asked whether or not Roman Reigns could snatch the belt from Brock Lesnar, he said, “Not now, but he’s got until April to become ready and that I was optimistic that he could get there.” Unfortunately, Ross says some websites reported him as saying Reigns was not ready, period, so he decided to clarify.

“To set the record straight, anyone who can guarantee that they know if Reigns will be ready or not are BS’ing themselves and whoever listens to them. If you have a crystal ball, I will suggest that you use to it win some sports bets and to play the stock market,” said Jim Ross on his blog. “By the way, what if Reigns is NOT slated to become the next big thing at WM31? The eraser is a mighty weapon. Bottom line is to simply stay tuned and enjoy the ride and try not to over analyze the TV programming of any company that promotes the genre.”

Ross also believes Royal Rumble will be the game-changer that determines the futures of Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins, John Cena, and perhaps even another wrestler.

“I’m thinking that the Cena vs.Lesnar WWE World Title match at the Royal Rumble in Philly will be one of the more compelling WWE Title matches that we’ve seen a good while. Does Lesnar stay or does he go? Is Brock going back to MMA or is he staying around. Does Cena prepare Brock for Reigns or another young talent WM31? Is there a return match in the works for Cena and Lesnar? Will Rollins cash in his MITB Contract? Could a new ‘player’ step into the title picture in some manner?”

Do you think Roman Reigns is ready to take on Brock Lesnar for the WWE Heavyweight Championship title? Or, would you prefer another wrestler be given the biggest stage in pro wrestling?
