WWE News: Huge WrestleMania 31 Storyline To Begin On First ‘Raw’ Of 2015?

The 2014 calendar year is nearing its conclusion, and the WWE experienced its most turbulent years in quite some time. CM Punk left the WWE in late-January because he was fed up with the wresting business in general; Seth Rollins turned heel on the Shield and aligned himself with the Authority; Brock Lesnar conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania 30.

Those were some of the shocking moments the WWE endured throughout the last 350-plus days. The professional wrestling Mecca also experienced negative moments too. Vince McMahon nearly lost $350 million of his money, their annual cuts hit hard, and Alberto Del Rio got fired after slapping a social media employee.

The New Year will allow WWE to begin with their “Road to WrestleMania” and start fresh. Last year’s Royal Rumble in Pittsburgh left the fans wanting more, but it is a new year with new talent. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE will begin 2015 with a bang and possibly a huge storyline that will culminate at WrestleMania 31.

According to a source, the first RAW of 2015 is expected to contain a major storyline that will “kick off WrestleMania 31 season in a big way.” This was the plan as of this past weekend.

The show takes place on January 5th in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Last week, it was reported that the January 19 edition of Monday Night Raw will feature four huge names from WWE’s past, including Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall. All four men are former nWo members. The theme for the show is a “Raw Reunion.”

These four men will easily sell the show weeks prior to. All are legends in the wrestling industry, and were a part of the most-controversial group in wrestling history. That show could tie into the huge storyline that will supposedly kick off 2015.

One possible option that could begin this new storyline is the return of Sting. He has the potential to do major things in the WWE, even though he will only be on TV about four more times. It’s the nostalgia that Sting reflects off of him, and the WWE Universe will soak it in. If anything is major in the WWE right now, it is Sting.

It will give Triple H and Stephanie McMahon plenty of time to rejuvenate themselves and insert the power couple back into the weekly fold. Meanwhile, Sting will most likely show up at the Royal Rumble and cause a major ruckus. Then, on the next Raw, Triple H will intervene on Sting’s Raw debut. That said, the WrestleMania 31 match will be nothing but official.
