Camille Cosby Won’t Divorce Bill Cosby, But Friends Are ‘Embarrassed’ By His ‘Roving Eye’
As Camille Cosby continues to defend her husband, Bill Cosby, some of their friends are publicly admitting they are “embarrassed” by the “roving eye” of the comedian.
In a related report by the Inquisitr, Kathie Lee Gifford claims Cosby tried to kiss her after serving cappuccino. Camille Cosby’s daughter, Evin Cosby, also released a statement in regards to the allegations surrounding her father.
According to the official statement, Camille Cosby does not believe in the portrait painted by the media, instead saying that he’s the same man the public saw on the Cosby Show.
“The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work. He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew.”
Friends of Camille Cosby say she is not as certain about their marriage in private, confiding, “You know, everyone has their limits.”
That’s not to say that Camille will divorce Bill Cosby. Instead, Camille blames others for their current scandal, saying, “I think his problem is that he’s far too trusting and he lets things go too far and people can get the wrong idea.”
These friends say that Camille has not lost faith in her husband, despite over two dozen women alleging that the comedian sexually assaulted them.
“She’s always believed in him. She’s not the short-leash type of wife, so it’s not like she’s forbidden him to go to the Playboy Mansion or other things,” one friend said. “It’s part of show business and being a big celebrity.”
Previously, Playmate Barbi Benton claimed Bill Cosby was a Playboy mansion regular who always showed up with a bunny girlfriend.
Still, if Bill ever cheated, then Camille’s father, the late Guy Hanks, is said to have believed that “Camille’s first instinct would be to bash him over the head with a frying pan.”
Other friends are puzzled by Camille’s continuing loyalty.
“Is she embarrassed? Yes, no question. Anyone would be, and I spoke to her for a little while,” says the friend. “She’s intelligent, and sometimes you can’t tell or explain anything to intelligent people. So you just tell them that you love them… But you can tell that he has a roving eye. He always has, and Camille knows that, too. But he’s obviously crossed that line in the past, and they’ve been able to put it behind them, but no one really wants to say much. Even the church doesn’t want to rock the boat, but many of us are embarrassed by this even if Camille isn’t embarrassed.”
A Delta Sigma Theta sorority sister spoke about Camille Cosby, admitting it’s “puzzling why she’s put up with it.”
“I know that in speaking with her — and we’re usually honest with each other — she seems to believe that the women will be exposed eventually so it’s best not to say anything,” she says, according to the New York Post. “But maybe the eventuality of her husband being exposed has arrived.”
