It is always a tragedy whenever news of young people being forced into prostitution is reported. The Inquisitr has reported on such horrific news, which includes the arrest of 150 people for prostituting 150 children, 458 children rescued from a Mexican slave den, and the tragic story of Brittney Wood, a girl who was prostituted out by her family.

However, the latest story pertaining to this type of crime comes out of Miami, Florida. Seven men were arrested for sexually assaulting and drugging a 16-year-old girl. What’s worse is they forced her into prostitution too.

According to an article by the Miami Herald, the teenage girl went messing from a Miami-Dade pubic school on December 4, after leaving the premises via black Ford Taurus. She was escorted to various locations in northwest Miami-Dade, and administered a smorgasbord of illegal drugs including alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, and MDMA pills. While under the influence, the teenage girl was coerced into prostitution with a mandate of making $1,288. Over the course of the week, she was forced into sexual acts with more than sixteen men, up to eight men simultaneously on at least two occasions.

State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle made a statement pertaining to the case while expressing disgust.

NBC Miami also reported on the tragic case, identifying the seven accused men. Derrick Powell, Sr. is charged for sexual battery. His son, Derrick Powell, Jr., is charged with assault. The other suspects, Craig Hill, Mark Evans, Branden Sands, Jerome Grace, and Edward Cornelius, were also taken into custody on Friday evening.

Right now, the seven men are held without bond. As for the 16-year-old girl, there was no reported updates on her condition. However, it can possibly be assumed that she is now safe. Finally, Miami-Dade authorities will continue the investigation in hopes of uncovering more of the truth, seeing just how deep this prostitution ordeal goes. Ed Griffith, spokesman for Miami-Dade state attorney’s office, verified this plan of action for authorities.
