Larry Flynt: Hustler Founder Plans To Release XXX Parody Of ‘The Interview’

Larry Flynt plans to release a pornographic version of the movie The Interview, one that he promises will upset North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

Flynt announced the movie just days after Sony said it was canceling the release of The Interview, after a threat from North Korean hackers. The group — which had already released a number of embarrassing documents for Sony as well as scripts and movie clips — had threatened violence against theaters that showed The Interview, prompting movie theaters to drop the movie and Sony to cancel its release altogether.

But Larry Flynt said he will not be cowed be terrorists, and plans to go ahead with a pornographic version of the movie.

“If Kim Jong Un and his henchmen were upset before, wait till they see the movie we’re going to make,” Flynt said.

The movie’s working title is This Ain’t the Interview XXX, and it will reportedly follow the same plot as the now-scrapped Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy. In The Interview, Franco plays a celebrity interviewer recruited by the CIA to assassinate the North Korean leader.

For Larry Flynt, the project is much larger than simply making fun of Kim Jong-Un.

“I’ve spent a lifetime fighting for the First Amendment, and no foreign dictator is going to take away my right to free speech,” Flynt said.

There still could be hope for those who want to see The Interview. After Sony initially announced that it would not be released, the studio came under heavy criticism. Even Mitt Romney and Barack Obama, opponents in the 2012 presidential election, agreed that it was the wrong move, and called on Sony to reconsider.

Now Sony appears to be backing away from its decision. In an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton said the studio is considering releasing The Interview in some other format. Sony later released a statement, saying it hoped to find some way to release the movie, and that “anyone who wants to see this movie will get the opportunity to do so.”

The porn parody of The Interview is set to go into production in early 2015, Larry Flynt announced.
