‘GTA V’ Update Causing Online Stability Issues, Rockstar Games Suggests Workaround

Now that Rockstar Games has released the latest Grand Theft Auto V patch alongside the holiday-themed “Festive Update” for GTA Online, several players are reporting to the developer’s official support website that they are experiencing issues after equipping select items that were added in this recent update. After purchasing any of the new holiday masks, some GTA V users are running into various performance issues that are impacting their ability to play.

Issuing a response to the reports, Rockstar Games confirmed that they are aware of the issue that was introduced with this week’s new GTA V update. The developer revealed that the bug seems to happen when players attempt to access the Interaction Menu of Grand Theft Auto V after trying out any of the new gear that were added in the update.

“We have received a small number of reports regarding issues with framerate and the Interaction Menu when equipping items from the GTA Online Festive Surprise.”

Rockstar Games announced that they are currently working to completely resolve the issue. In the meantime, the developer offered a possible workaround that could help alleviate some of the issues that GTA V players are experiencing. Rockstar suggest that users who become affected by the stability bug should fully reboot their console. This could provide a temporary fix to the framerate issues until an official patch can be deployed.

Unfortunately, there are already reports from a few GTA V players that the reboot doesn’t seem to help. At the current time, however, this is the only thing users can do to try to alleviate the problems, so it is still suggested that fans try to reboot their console.

The stability issues are reported to begin after gamers access the Interaction Menu of GTA V. For those unfamiliar with its name, the Interactive Menu is a real-time window that players can use inside GTA V to quickly perform a number of in-game actions such as set GPS, equip accessories, begin an impromptu race, and enable passive mode. Since the bug stems from the use of this menu, players would be best advised to avoid the Interaction Menu until a patch is released.

Thus far, this is the only issues known to have come as a result of the latest title update for Grand Theft Auto V. As the Inquisitr reported on Thursday, the “Festive Update” introduced several holiday changes to the title’s online multiplayer mode. For a limited time, players can enjoy Christmas decorations and snowy weather within GTA Online. The update also added new vehicles and weapons to GTA V for gamers to enjoy.
