Eion Bailey Returning To ‘Once Upon A Time’ As Pinocchio In Season Four

Eion Bailey played one of the most popular characters on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, but his long-term appearance on the show didn’t seem meant to be. Well, it appears as if Disney has backtracked on that as it has now been revealed that Pinocchio will be making a return to the popular show and very soon.

TVLine reported that Bailey will be coming back in the current season of Once Upon a Time, and in multiple episodes too.

Bailey will be back as Pinocchio (and August) beginning in episode 14 which will be titled “Enter the Dragon.” That won’t be his only appearance though as it has been revealed that his current deal is for a couple more than that. The show is currently on its winter break until March 1, 2015.

SPOILERS ahead for those that have not yet seen season two of Once Upon a Time. Keep reading at your own risk.

In case you may not remember, Eion Bailey’s character of Pinocchio was killed off in the episode “Selfless, Brave and True” in season two. August actually died while trying to warn Emma about Peter Pan’s henchwoman, Tamara. The Blue Fairy was able to save him, but he had to become a young boy again to live.

There is no real explanation as to how Eion Bailey will be coming back to the show since he’s now a little boy, but TVLine believes it will be in flashbacks.

The Hollywood Reporter said that executive producers Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis have revealed the second half of Once Upon a Time‘s season four will focus on heroes and villains. That’s how Maleficent, Cruelle De Vil, and Ursula will come into the picture.

Once Upon A Time Villains

Kitsis is thrilled with what is to come in Once Upon a Time, and he rightfully should be. The first half of season four has brought about the sisters from Disney’s Frozen, and it’s really gotten things exciting, but there is more to come.

“We’re really excited that the flashbacks will return to the time of season one. We’re going to get much more Snow, Charming, Evil Queen, before the curse. We’re going to go back to that time period.”

Eion Bailey was 15 episodes of Once Upon a Time before being killed off and reborn, but it’s not like he hasn’t been doing much work. Pinocchio appeared on Showtime’s Ray Donovan numerous times and even guest-starred on Law & Order: SVU on NBC.
