Jamie Dornan Gets Kinky At Sex Dungeons To Prepare For His ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Role

How does one prepare for the role of billionaire who is into BDSM? Jamie Dornan, who plays the male lead role, Christian Grey, in Fifty Shades of Grey, visited a sex dungeon to study up on his BDSM skills, according to TIME.

Dornan felt the need to take method acting to the next level, as he reveals in the February issue of Elle. Jamie’s interview was rather interesting as he describes getting into the role of Christian Grey.

A brief synopsis of Fifty Shades of Grey on IMDB describes the film in a nutshell: “Literature student Anastasia Steele’s life changes forever when she meets handsome, yet tormented, billionaire Christian Grey.” That’s the short version.

Entertainment Tonight delves a bit deeper in it’s description stating that Fifty Shades of Grey is all about the intense sexual affair in which Grey “awakens Anastasia’s deeply hidden desires through the liberal application of sadomasochism and bondage.”

That’s where the sex dungeons come into play.

Dornan tells Elle, “I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did…whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives.”

Jamie confesses that there was “plenty of kink and plenty of laughter.”

“I was like: ‘Come on guys I know I’m not paying for this but I am expecting a show.'”

How did Dornan react after leaving the sex dungeons and retreating back into his own reality of marriage and family?

“It was an interesting evening. Then going back to my wife (Amelia Warner) and newborn baby afterwards… I had a long shower before touching either of them.”

The role of Christian Grey was originally cast with Charlie Hunnam (Jax Teller) from Sons of Anarchy. However, soon after the announcement was made, there was quite an uproar from fans rejecting that idea, according to Entertainment Tonight. Within 24 hours of the contract being signed by Hunman, a petition fans began circulating had over 40,000 signatures.

Hunman eventually dropped out of the role in Fifty Shades of Grey, which was then offered to Jamie Dornan.

Dornan is also known for his role in ABC’s Once Upon a Time, as well as his sadistic serial killer role on BBC’s The Fall. While all the roles he’s played have brought him experience that he can incorporate into the character of Christian Grey, Dornan may be ready to try new things after Fifty Shades of Grey according to a recent interview with The Guardian.

“There are a couple of classic knots I know now, and I’ve put them to good use far too many times recently. In fact I’d like to do a job where I don’t have to tie women to beds.”
