Black Man Finds N****r Written On Zembie’s Sports Tavern Receipt In Pennsylvania

Marquis Moore was picking up a take-out order from Zembie’s Sports Tavern in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, when he noticed the “N-word” typed onto the receipt. Moore revealed that the “n****r” racial slur was typed onto the bar tab where the name of the patron was supposed to appear.

The Zembie’s Sports Tavern bartender claims the N-word on the receipt handed to Marquis Moore was just a joke, and claimed that a friend had shown her a Facebook post where the 29-year-old Harrisburg black man has allegedly described himself as a “sexy n****r.”

Marquise Moore said that he was “hurt by the situation, she [bartender] could have just taken the time to ask my name.” The Pennsylvania man said he was shocked when he saw the N-word on the receipt.

“It makes me feel like I’m just low. A n****r is an ignorant, disrespectful person. It has nothing to do with your skin color. What would possess you to put something like that on a piece of paper? You don’t even know who I am,” Moore said.

The Zembie’s Sports Bar owner has reportedly refused to apologize, and maintains that the use of the N-word was merely meant as a light-hearted joke and the entire incident is a misunderstanding. Bartender Megan Bonsall said that because Marquis Moore was busy chatting with others at the Pennsylvania sports bar, she had to ask a friend for his name to complete the order. The friend then allegedly showed the bartender the Facebook post.

“We have a Redskins fan club and every week there are 12 to 15 black guys who come in to watch the games. We are not racists at all and serve everyone,” Zembie’s Sports Bar owner Angelo Karagiannis added.

The owner also stated that he told Bonsall not to identify customers using their physical characteristics in the future.

Marquis Moore is not content with the N-word receipt explanation offered by those at Zembie’s Sports Bar.

Moore added, “Even if that is the case, why didn’t she put ‘sexy n****r on the check?”

Moore was had been a regular at the Harrisburg sports bar, but now says that he will not be going back to the bar.

“Racism is no longer behind closed doors,” he stated. “I am just a random Joe and she could have just taken the time to ask my name.”
