‘Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ Meets Taylor Swift In ‘Blank Space’ Parody

Advanced Warfare has been one of the biggest games of the seasons. The game has sold more copies on Xbox 360 than any other platform so far. Yet, in a report by Forbes, Warfare still has not been able to match up to Ghosts sales.

“Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson says outright that based on the NPD data he’s seen for November, ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ has seen US retail sales decline 27% from ‘Ghosts’ in 2013.”

Regardless of sales numbers, gamers love Advanced Warfare, and some just have to shout it from the rooftops — or at least sing about their love on YouTube — despite the game having a slew of issues and some glitches.

Another hit this season has been Taylor Swift’s 1989 album. In particular, her song “Blank Space” has garnered attention because of the somewhat homicidal music video. The original song is so popular that many have tried their hand at recreating their own bit of insanity with a number of parodies.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before someone combined Advanced Warfare with “Blank Space.” Then again, maybe not. However, the video is great.

NerdOut likes to combine the beauty of music with the beauty of nerds. “I love Advanced Warfare” is the channel’s third video, though I am sure there will be more.

The music video uses in-game footage, and it is glorious. The gameplay is in high definition with clear, crisp lines. I am not a huge fan of first-person shooters, and even I have to say that AdvancedWarfare is absolutely gorgeous.

The star of the video has to be the lyrics. They are witty, and give an insightful look into what it means to play Advanced Warfare. One of my favorite lines is “I can do invisible things” just as the character cloaks for a mission. The editing on the video is really well done.

The creators even give a shout-out to those who play online with multiple players. Often there are people who will shout immature comments, mostly about sleeping with each others’ mothers, as a way of distraction or revenge for being killed. And so that had to be part of the parody, or it just wouldn’t be Call of Duty.

“You say you slept with my mom? Oh no!”

Oh yes, NerdOut went there. They also did a Harry Potter reference.

Advanced Warfare may have its haters, just as all games do, but it also has its lovers. This is a celebration of the game, in spite of its flaws. After all, if you truly love something, you love it because of the glitches is has, right Warfare fans?
