Jane Seymour Divorce: British Actress Talks Split From James Keach

Actress Jane Seymour recently spilled the beans about her divorce from James Keach. After spending over 20 years with the actor, Seymour admitted that the split was definitely a “shock” to her system.

Jane and James, the son of actor Stacy Keach, tied the knot back in 1993. However, as the Inquisitr previously reported, the couple decided to go their separate ways back in 2013 due to “irreconcilable differences.” Although news of Jane Seymour’s divorce made the rounds in the press, the British actress remained tight-lipped about the split.

Instead of rushing to talks shows or magazines to discuss the death of their marriage, Seymour and Keach decided to issue a statement through their rep (via People).

“The couple confirm that they are separated and have been for several months. At this time they are negotiating the terms of their divorce. They will continue their relationship as devoted parents to their children, as business associates and partners, and in their joint dedication to preserving and furthering the charitable endeavors that they’ve worked on throughout their marriage.”

During a recent chat with Huffington Post, Jane Seymour finally opened up about her divorce from Keach. While the split definitely caused a bit of turmoil in her private life, the actress remained fairly pragmatic about the situation.

“That happens to a lot of people,” Seymour explained.

She continued, “Now, two years later, we are very good friends. We spent Thanksgiving together. We’ll spend Christmas together. We’re a family. We realize the marriage may not be intact, but the family is intact and always will be. We’ll always care for one another and care about one another. That doesn’t change.”

Jane Seymour kept her thoughts and feelings about the divorce out of the headlines, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it didn’t affect her on an emotional level. She just chose to keep that aspect of her life hidden away behind closed doors.

“It is frightening. I’ve cried many, many tears. I just didn’t do it publicly. But absolutely. And I’ve questioned a lot of things about myself and I really believe in doing the work on myself. I can’t change anybody else. But I can definitely work on making myself a better person.”

Despite the divorce, it’s clear that Seymour hasn’t lost her sense of humor. According to the New York Post, the actress recently teamed up with the folks over at Funny or Die for the spoof Dr. Quinn, Morphine Woman. Even if you’re unfamiliar with her television series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, the clip is still pretty enjoyable.
