Lauren Scruggs Marries Jason Kennedy After Losing Hand, Eye In Tragic Accident


Lauren Scruggs is married. The 26-year-old LOLO magazine founder and editor-in-chief, model, and fashion blogger wed her beau, 33-year-old Jason Kennedy, following a seven-month engagement that saw the couple plan a wedding, buy a house, and take a pre-honeymoon vacation, according to People.

Scruggs and Kennedy said their vows on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the elegant Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, according to an Us Weekly report. The couple dated for hardly more than a year before tying the knot.

The handsome groom wore a Tom Ford suit for the occasion, while the beaming bride opted for a Romona Keveza dress as she walked down the aisle with her father, Jeff Scruggs. They exchanged wedding rings designed by William Noble Rare Jewels during the ceremony. The newlywed couple’s special day was recorded by E! News cameras for the upcoming television special The Kennedy Wedding: Jason and Lauren Get Married. The special is scheduled to air on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 8 p.m. on E!.

Scruggs and Kennedy have not been shy about sharing their love with the public. When he proposed to the love of his life with a Jennifer Meyer diamond and dozens of candles spelling out “Will you marry me?” he posted the happy news on Instagram. She said, “Yes.”

When Jason Kennedy asked Lauren Scruggs to marry him, he did it with burning candles and a diamond ring.

“God has blessed me with somebody I’ve been waiting for my whole life. Lauren changed everything for me and I can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with her,” a love-struck Kennedy gushed to E! News about his new wife.

“Jason has completely changed my life, and I could not be more thankful for who he is and how he loves me,” Lauren added. “I can’t wait to spend forever with him.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Lauren Scruggs was exiting a small two-seater plane at a private airport in McKinney, Texas, three years ago when she moved too close to the plane’s propeller. The propeller struck the left side of her head and body, causing injuries to her head, hand and, shoulder. Doctors had to amputate her left hand. Weeks later, she also lost her left eye. Scruggs underwent facial reconstruction surgery following the accident, and she has since received a prosthetic hand and eye.
