Oregon School Shooting: Shots Fired At Rosemary Anderson School

Rosemary Anderson High School reported shots fired at the Northern Oregon alternative. At least two people were shot at the Portland, Oregon, area school. Three patients have been transported to a local hospital due to the Oregon school shooting. The small alternative high school reportedly has a 90 percent graduation rate. Many of the students at the Portland area school are reportedly homeless.

Oregon police officers are now reportedly searching for a suspect or suspects in the Rosemary Anderson School shooting. A neighbor to the Oregon school heard the shots being fired and called 911. Tamara King, an area resident, told the Oregonian that she heard five shots fired in quick succession. Portland Police Department spokesman Pete Simpson said the Oregon school shooting is not being treated as an “active shooter”, and said the incident could be gang related.

According to the Washington County Scanner Twitter account, three people have been injured, all three were shot. It is not yet known if all three of those shot were Rosemary Anderson School students or staff. The Oregonian reports that one male student was shot in the back and another female was shot in the chest. The shooting reportedly took place outside of the Portland school, all three victims ran back inside for help. The third victim in the Oregon school shooting was also a male.

Enrolling up to 190 students annually at our North Killingsworth location, our at-risk students have either been expelled or dropped out of public high school and many are homeless. RAHS provides open-door year round access to the ‘last chance’ to complete a high school education, and is currently achieving a 90% graduation rate amongst students who enroll and attend classes.”
