Keira Knightley Pregnant: Golden Globe Nominated Actress Pregnant With First Child

It’s true — Keira Knightley is pregnant with her first child. The Golden Globe nominated British actress is not only celebrating recognition for her career achievements, but has a much more important thing to smile about.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, much speculation has surrounded The Imitation Game star, and rumors that she may be pregnant intensified after her appearance at the British Independent Film Awards. The paparazzi have been following Keira Knightley’s every move, and Page Six reported on the big news two days ago citing sources.

On Friday, E! Online confirmed that Knightley and her husband of one year, musician James Righton, are indeed expecting their first child together. The couple got married in a romantic ceremony in the south of France on May of 2013.

So what will a pregnant Keira Knightley do in the future? The 29-year-old has been very vocal about her views on motherhood and career, and how to balance both. In a 2012 interview with Vogue, the mom-to-be responded to constant questions about feminism.

“But would I want to be a stay-at-home mother? No. On the other hand, you should be allowed to do that, as should men, without being sneered at.”

Without knowing she would soon announce her own pregnancy, Keira Knightley spoke to Glamour this past summer about her views on motherhood, and who should take care of their bundle of joy.

“I think it’s about equality. I was talking to a male friend about this the other day who’s just had a baby girl, and because he’s the one staying home to look after her, he went to this mother-and-baby class, and all the mothers were going, ‘Oh, is the baby having a day with Dad?’ I mean, not to have the freedom to do that (if you are male) is as bad as saying it’s a woman’s duty to look after the children.”

Much like Kate Middleton, Keira Knightley’s pregnancy is expected to result in a very personal maternity fashion style. Stay tuned for all the details as her baby bump grows.
