Texas Mom Fatima Giron Left Babies Inside Hot Car For 40 Minutes While She Visited Probation Officer!

A 23-year-old mother of two was charged with endangering the life of her own babies after it was found that she had left them inside a car unattended for nearly an hour. Surprising as it may seem, she was on a visit to her probation officer at the time of the incident. According to KHOU, the woman, identified as Fatima Giron, is accused of leaving her two children — a two-year-old toddler and a three-month-old infant — inside her car with the engine switched off and the windows rolled up — and thereby endangering the life of her own kids.

According to Click2Houston, the incident reportedly happened earlier this year, on October 12. The report adds that the children were first noticed by a woman who was doing volunteer work in the area. One of the kids was crying hysterically while inside the car and her cries could be heard outside. The woman volunteer noticed that the crying child was seated on the driver’s seat of the parked vehicle. As people gathered around Giron’s car, they noticed that there was one more child inside the car, seated at the back. Without wasting any further time, the assembled people called up the police, who reached the location within minutes.

Both the children were soon taken out of the vehicle. While their lives were not in danger, the heat of the afternoon was taking its toll on them as both of them were profusely sweating inside. Had they remained inside the car for a few more minutes, things might have been worse.

A few minutes later, Fatima Giron exited the building after her meet with the probation officer. When asked for an explanation, she claimed that she left her two daughters inside the car because they were sleeping when she reached the probation officer’s office. Giron apparently thought there was nothing wrong in leaving children unattended inside a vehicle with the AC off and the windows rolled up.

Upon checking surveillance video records, police officials were able to deduce that the two children were inside the car for nearly 40 minutes. In the video, Fatima Giron is seen entering the building at around 11:44 a.m. She is seen exiting the building at 12:26.

According to officials from the Houston police department, Fatima Giron was charged with putting the girls in imminent danger of death, bodily injury and/or physical and mental impairment. Her bond was set at $2,000. This is not the first time that we have heard of parents recklessly leaving their children inside cars. Many of them do not end up being as lucky as this case was with the babies involved in this particular incident.

Fatima Giron, who is originally from El Salvador, already has a conviction in her name. She had been convicted for theft, according to official records.
