2011 VGAs: Alan Wake: American Nightmare revealed [Video]

We got word early last month that the next Alan Wake title would be revealed during the 2011 Spike VGAs and, sure enough, it was.

The news actually broke first by way of a rumor, which said that the next Alan Wake would be a purely digital affair. As it turns out, those rumors were true – Alan Wake: American Nightmare, the next installment in the series, will be released exclusively on the Xbox 360 by way of Xbox Live.

Judging by the trailer shown during the VGAs, it looks like things have gotten significantly worse for our protagonist Alan Wake since his outing in the original game. In Alan Wake: American Nightmare, players will go up against Wake’s evil doppelganger, who goes by Mr. Scratch.

In the video we get to see bits and pieces of gameplay here and there, but it’s a mostly story-oriented trailer that gives us some insight on what sort of trouble Alan Wake will find himself knee-high in with American Nightmare.
